About the Center On the Mountain
Atop an Ozark mountain where the view is endless and seasons parade their colors across earth and sky, a place of peace, renewal and refreshment awaits. Owned and operated by the Brothers and Sisters of Charity, the Little Portion Retreat & Training Center provides a place of "returning and rest" for all Christians.
Whether making a private pilgrimage in solitude and silence, or attending one of the challenging retreats offered by the center, or even being part of a group renting the center for their own spiritual program; visitors have remarked again and again that a visit to the mountain has "changed my life."
During your stay at Little Portion you might wish to browse the galleries and shops in our town and enjoy meeting with their keepers. No trip to this area is complete without attending a performance of The Great Passion Play whose home is at the foot of our mountain.
The Center is located east of Eureka Springs on Onyx Cave Road, just off Highway 62 and a short drive from all area attractions. Computerized maps direct visitors via the scenic routes rather than the easiest driving routes. We recommend using Hwy 540 from the east side and Hwy 65 from the west side of Arkansas to arrive at Hwy 62 (a major east-west route). Remain on Hwy 62 turning NORTH on Onyx Cave Road in Eureka Springs (there is a large Onyx Cave sign on Hwy 62).
Onyx Cave Road and Hwy 207 run together for 5 miles, then Hwy 207 continues straight ahead... continue STRAIGHT ahead for one more mile.

The Universal Monk - The Way of the New Monastics
"The Universal Monk" is about the monk in all of us. In today's fast paced, and often fractured culture we all seek inner peace and unity. The Universal Monk is a powerful way for everyone of any state of life to find it. It is written from the experience of JMT's public international ministry, and as founder and spiritual father of The Brothers and Sisters of Charity, a new integrated monastic community of celibates, singles who can marry, and families who live in an integrated monastery or in their own homes. It walks us through a treatment of the current issues that face us such as the great recession, political polarization, and the sex abuse crises in the church with real spiritual and lifestyle answers that come from a fully unified and integrated life in God. If you are tired of the "same old, same old," this retreat is for you!
$225 donation/person included 3 days of sessions, 2 nights lodging, and 6 meals.
